Q. It has been a long time. We saw you last time on〈ESQUIRE〉August Issue. We hardly heard of you again after that, turns out you're now back as LE SSERAFIM'S member.
Good to see you again.(Haha) I went back to become a trainee again to prepare my debut and busily promotiing with LE SSERAFIM.
Q. This year you had your second debut right?
Not everyone had the chance to debut for the second time like this. So I really wanted to show a well-rounded version of myself for my second debut. When I was back as a trainee I decided to train from the very basic on every aspect of myself and I think I can feel that I have grown a lot since then.
Q. Your image also have changed a lot. You used to have such an innocent and refreshing image, but now you have become a 'Hot Girl'.
Just like what I said earlier, I revamped myself even to a personal level so I can show a completely different style of performance and singing. My make up and fashion style also changed. As I attempted a new concept I realized my preferences were changing as well. Looking back at myself, I thought that I want to show a different version of Kim Chaewon.(Haha)
Q. You're now LE SSERAFIM's leader. What kind of leader do you think you are?
I think I'm the chill and friend-like leader. And that's also the kind leader I want to be.
Q. You used to be in the 'maknae line' back then. Is there any burden (that you have to face now) as a leader?
Rather than feeling burdened it was more of awkward. Not only it was my first to be the 'unnie' of the group, but I also have to be the leader. It's a bit of a burden, but it's a good kind of burden. I learn to have more sense of responsibility. With that responsibility it helps me to become a better person.
Q. ‘FEARLESS’ was a hot topic for its 'knife-like' choreography, but seems like it's also the same case for ‘ANTIFRAGILE’.
‘FEARLESS’ received a lot of love for its performance, so when we were preparing (for 'ANTIFRAGILE') we really wanted to show a performance that's at least one step ahead of 'FEARLESS'. ‘ANTIFRAGILE’ itself has moves that we never tried before and there was so many formations in the song, so it was really difficult. Ofcourse, we put a lot of effort to prepare for it, but it also became the enjoyable point for us. When we were promoting ‘FEARLESS’, we couldn't enjoy the stage. Since it was our debut song we pressured ourselves to execute it well. But for this time we become a lot more relaxed. It's a performance where we had to enjoy it so our expressions look a lot better as we're on stage. The members discussed about this a lot.

Q. As you're promoting, seems like you become a lot brighter. Even compared to last year, you seem to smile a lot more now.
Ah, Is that so?(Haha) Personally, I also felt like I become a lot brighter as I promote. I thought my personality has been a lot more open as I'm promoting. As well, due to lots of love given to me I received a lot more positive energy and become more cheerful. I also think promoting with the members as a team give a huge positive impact on me.
Q. LE SSERAFIM has members from various backgrounds and nationalities. Seeing your interactions with each other, it feels like there are cultural differences between the members. What do you think of it?
I do feel that way. From the songs we grew up listening to, cyworld*, also back then when we didn't have smartphone and used to call 1633* and etc…Between the members I'm the only one with that experience. There is a generational gap, but also cultural difference. However, due to our differences in backgrounds there was a lot of things that I didn't know and it's great that I listen to each of their own experiences. Like when we talked about 'Set Set Set'*, Yunjin showed the american version of it while Kazuha and Sakura showed the japanese version to us. Though whenever I talked about cyworld it seemed to be a fascinating topic to the members.(Haha)

Q. What kind image that you want to show in this comeback?
First of all, showing LE SSERAFIM's various charms is the main goal. We have prepared well for title song, follow-up song, as well our b-sides. Secondly, we want to show a lot stages where we enjoy ourselves. We thought if we're able to show how much we enjoy performing the fans might enjoy the stages as well. And of course we want to show a way better performance from our previous ones.
T/N: Yes, you're not mistaken. Chaewon did say "FOLLOW UP SONG". She mentioned 'follow up song'' and "b-side tracks separately which means they'll promote one of the bsides as well!!!
